LEMBAH BERINGIN: Chery's RM2.2 billion Smart Auto Industrial Park in Lembah Beringin is expected to strengthen Selangor's position as a key automotive manufacturing hub while creating thousands of jobs and attracting new investment to Hulu Selangor.
The Chinese automaker marked the topping-out of Phase 1 of the facility on Thursday, signifying the completion of the plant's main structural works.
Operations are expected to begin in the first quarter of next year, according to Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
